Economy Forms

Post: # 16530Post Misha »

You may now submit forms on the Discord!
You can find it in the #resources channel, it is called 'Economy Form Submissions'!

Please make sure to read everything again before submitting forms.
New systems may have been put in place and reading again could avoid trouble.

If you have feedback or notice issues you can DM Misha on Discord!

Last Updated February 27, 2023

If your character earns a weekly /kit, or if your character runs a business, you should fill out any appropriate forms and post them to this thread! Please do not make another thread for this!

Please make sure to read the ‘Things to keep in mind’ section at least once!

Existing Paychecks

Feel free to refer to this spreadsheet to see if your paycheck is in the system! If the paycheck you are receiving is missing from the sheet, you are not able to get a paycheck that you should, or you see an outdated / inaccurate paycheck, then please make a post so we know that we need to fix it! It's very possible there was a mistake somewhere along the way.

Forms
Note: If you notice your application isn’t handled in 48 hours feel free to make a staff misc. ticket!

Employees: If your character is working for another player / organization / etc. then you’ll be added to the system using the Employee Forms. You or your employer can fill it out; if you do it yourself we will just double check with your employer to make sure everything is right!

Business Owners: Does your character run a business, or are they a freelancer without any real boss? You can apply to get a check for the revenue your character would earn from NPCs and such through the Business Forms.

Things to keep in mind

A character can have 2 jobs total. Only 1 of them may be full-time. This means you can have one full-time job + one part-time job or two part-time jobs. You may not have [two full-time jobs] If your character has an intense job (ex: doctor, police officer) please speak to your boss before picking up an additional job. If we notice a character picking up much we'll poke them to figure it out. Character are allowed to volunteer and do additional gigs or commissions, and this only counts for jobs that provide a consistent paycheck.

Each business you own counts as one of your jobs! You can choose if they handle it full-time or part-time. If you choose part-time you'll get less as it's assumed you're ICly hiring a manger/extra workers. If you would like two jobs and to also own a business, or more than 2 businesses, you're allowed, but you will only be able to receive enough to cover the rent. Excess is assumed to go to NPCs and your character is likely nearly hands-off except for events or special occasions. If you'd like profit from them you can run events or take on extra gigs.

Inform us if a paycheck no longer applies, such as if your character quits, you change characters, or you close a business. You don’t even have to fill out the form if that happens, if you make a post saying ‘Username should not receive their #k kit from Business’ or something similar that is also acceptable. If you fail to do and continue to collect the paychecks then there will be consequences- including but not limited to taking pix from your bank to make up for collecting pix your character should not have earned.

Do you actually play that character anymore? Should you really be earning that paycheck? We know that there are Toro folk with multiple characters, especially folk who have been here longer. Sometimes paychecks can go a bit of time without being reviewed, and I would appreciate it if you sometimes take a moment to think about the character receiving your paycheck. If you consider a character ‘retired’- if you never RP them once in a blue moon to the point they’re an NPC- don’t keep getting their paychecks and tell us to remove it from the system. Or if you do play them but rarely, only collect the kit when you do RP them rather than every season. Please be honest with yourself and with us and try not to abuse the system, I want to trust our players.

Employee Wage Guide
Please look at the following sheet to figure out how much a player should be paid!
If a job is not on here, look for a similar job! We have a few jobs that cover a general position/type of job. If truly nothing is similar please feel free to ask if you want to be sure!

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

This list is based on roleplay merit and actual work done OOCly. How much a job might actually come in to provide roleplay and how engaging that roleplay will be is the biggest influence for paycheck, rather than how much a similar job may pay IRL. If you get a lower paying job you can still take on additional stuff for more pix (ex: a chef doing catering for events on the side!)

If a Business Owner overpays their employee it will be taken out of their own paycheck. If you want to pay a player above the average salary due to going above with exceptional or engaging roleplay, we'd recommend a promotion first- and if there's no way to promote them further, poke us privately! We might be a lil flexible with enough convincing. If you're unsure what to pay an employee, don't be afraid to ask for advice; I know it's not a comprehensive list, hopefully gives an alright idea though!

Part-time Workers should earn half or less than half than the full-time equivalent's starting pay. The maximum paycheck you can get for a part-time job is 4k. Business owners cannot give part-timers a paycheck more than this, even if they ask to take it out of their own paychecks- we will not honor those requests. Business owners can provide part-timers bonuses or pay them more separately, but we will not assign a /kit higher than that. We want to encourage people to get a part-time job because they enjoy the RP or opportunities it offers, rather than because it overpays a lot, and we don't want folk possibly earning more with it than their proper job.

Old Paychecks that go over what's appropriate will no longer be grandfathered in. I will change them accordingly to avoid unfair practices and punish new people for simply being new.

Old Paychecks that would go over what's appropriate have been grandfathered in! This is only for players who were hired before February 27, 2023 and keep their jobs. If they quit and are rehired, or other players / characters are hired into the same job, we'll be going by the new salary guide for what's appropriate. An archive of these paychecks that are grandfathered in can be found [here].

Economy Forms - Businesses

Post: # 16541Post Misha »

Business Forms

This to help people earn revenue that would otherwise not be coming in. We did this to allow for those businesses that run more for RP purposes than ones who have OOC shops to make money. For example, many of the cafes and restaurants within Toro have provided a good sum of RP, but do not have enough money coming in to support their employees and rent. With this form, it will solve the problem and allow for businesses to bring in money from the NPCs that come to your business!

New Business Form
Please fill out the form multiple times if you own multiple establishments rather than combining them. Feel free to skip the first part (MC/Char Name) if it’s all from the same character on the same page.

Please make sure to read the ‘Things to keep in mind’ section and the 'Business Guide' section at least once!
You may get less than what you are asking.

Code: Select all

What is your business?:

Does your character run it fulltime or parttime?
Does your Business have a vshop or provide any notable IC / OOC services?:
What do you do with your Business that encourages or enhances roleplay?:
Update Business Form
If there you would like to update your business, such as increasing the revenue after becoming more established, feel free to use one of the forms and post it. Do not edit your original post or it may be missed.

Character Name:

Name of Business:
What would you like to change?:
What is the reason for this change?:
If you are asking for the paycheck to be increased it helps to include additional steps you have taken to encourage or create engaging RP.

Business Paycheck Guide

Businesses paychecks start at 6k.

If they are run out of stalls, or focus primarily on selling items through v-shops, this will be a flat 5k (full-time). This cannot be raised.

Raising the Paycheck
Every month they can get it increased by +1k if they do a planned event. Quick and sudden openings don't count, they must be advertised in advance and have more substance than it being open.

Business Paychecks can go up to the cap of 8k. For casual eateries and cafes this is maxed at 7k due to it being easier to open and make up that small difference.

Event Bonuses
To incentivize actually doing stuff with your business- you can get a one-time bonus for every planned event you do. This is to represent the extra business you get from the attention! The admins will decide on the amount based on the amount of RP it provides and the effort put into it. We'll keep in mind any costs, as well as if you will already be receiving pix from selling food or other goods.

To get an event bonus there is a thread in the #directory channel on the Discord simply called 'Event Bonuses'. Fill out the form there and we'll work out!

Lowering Paycheck
A paycheck may be lowered after a period of inactivity, amongst other factors- this would represent a bit of a dry spell due to lack of promotion and such. It can be raised again through the method above.

Business Owner Tips
If you run your business part-time you cannot earn more than 3k profit. This is because part-time jobs cannot earn more than that, look at the ‘Things to keep in mind’ section for further info, including info about running a business alongside having other jobs.
Before hiring employees refer to the 'Employee Wage Guide'! Overpaying will lead to it being taken out of your own paycheck.
• I don't base what's given off on what would make sense in terms of OOC mathematics ('I can make this much if I do X actions!' / 'When compared to the real world-') but how much RP you add to the world.
• If your business does not provide RP opportunies but begins to later on via providing jobs or events, feel free to try asking for more again. Similarly we might reduce it if you stop running events or doing RP with it.
• I recommend making a post in the #directory channel on the Discord as well as the Business Directory Subforum

MC Username: EpicEphe12
Character Name: Serenity Young

Name of Business: Helping Hand
What would you like to change?: The 4k originally earned by Earnest Young (ThatAlex's character) would now start to be earned by Serenity Young (my character)
What is the reason for this change?: Helping Hand was originally run by ThatAlex's character Earnest Young. With the passing of Earnest, the business has been handed down to his daughter Serenity Young.

(I'm not sure if I was supposed to make a whole new business form since it was an already-established business that was just passed down to the next generation of Young's so I just stuck with the update form. Let me know if I do though!)

If it was a bigger business I'd say a new business form, but since this is a small one I'll just process it for ya! I look forward to seeing what cute stuff is done with it now that it has a new, active owner!
