Employee Wage Guide
If you’re unsure how much to pay an employee, you should follow the guidelines below! There's also some flexibility for RP; a fully trained chef at a fancy restaurant or the chief of a newspaper may earn a little bit more than any random chef or reporter! Just think about what might be appropriate based on the RP factors behind it and make sure to note it in the job description.

Suggestions on how much to pay an employee:
[1k~3k] For a part-time job.
[5k] is the absolute minimum wage for full-time and is for mundane entry-level jobs and/or ones that might not contribute to rp much if at all Ex: Cashiers, Delivery person, Apricorn Harvester.
[6k~7k] for jobs that only sometimes contributes to RP and requires a little OOC effort every so often. Ex: Bartenders, Waiters, Librarian, Real Estate Agent
[7k~9k] is for jobs that may encourage RP and requires IC training and experience or OOC effort to do. This may also be covered because of incremental increases from promotions through lots of roleplay or from being at a business for quite some time within reason. Ex: Head Chef, Instructor, Construction Worker, Parks & Recreation Worker, Reporter
[9k~10k+] is for jobs with lots of RP potential and requires OOC research. Something that requires you to put a bit of time and effort- IC and OOC- into it, and continue to do so to help push RP. This includes normally high paying jobs that might require a higher degree. Ex: Medical professionals and scientists.

Anything within reason will be covered. However, if you choose to pay an employee above their pay-grade (such as paying a retail worker 9k or a part-timer 6k) we might take it out of your paycheck as appropriate. If there’s ever a case that an employee’s paycheck may affect their employer's we will try to contact the employer privately to discuss it before going through!

If you're unsure what to pay an employee, don't be afraid to ask for advice; I know it's not a comprehensive list. Hopefully the above gives an alright idea though!

In-Character GM: Monopoly Forms (Business)

Post: # 16048Post Misha »

Business Forms

This to help people earn revenue that would otherwise not be coming in. We created this type of ICGM to allow for those businesses that run more for RP purposes than ones who have OOC shops to make money. For example, many of the cafes and restaurants within Toro have provided a good sum of RP, but do not OOCly have enough money coming in to support their employees and rent. With this form, it will solve the problem and allow for businesses to bring in money from the NPCs that come to your business!

New Business Form
Please fill out the form multiple times if you own multiple establishments rather than combining them. Feel free to skip the first part if it’s all from the same character on the same page.
You don't need a ton of detailed paragraphs or anything, just keeping it simple and to the point is okay! Especially if you're asking for an amount appropriate to what it should be making according to the Business Paycheck Guide right below!

Code: Select all

MC Username:
Character Name:

Name of Business:
Type of Business:
When the Business was established:

How much per season you want your business to make:
What steps have been taken to try and promote the Business / encourage RP?:
Does your Business have a vshop or provide any notable IC / OOC services?*:
Additional Notes / Reasoning:
*This will not affect the paycheck! It's so we can try to provide help if appropriate!

Update Business Form
If there you would like to update your business, such as increasing the revenue after becoming more established, feel free to use one of the forms and post it. Do not edit your original post or it may be missed.

Code: Select all

What is the reason for this change?:
If you are asking for the paycheck to be increased it helps to include steps you have taken to encourage RP.

Business Paycheck Guide

This is a general idea of what I’ll be keeping in mind when trying to give based on what the business is!

[1-4kP] is for businesses that provide little to no roleplay opportunities and/or otherwise are small side things that would have little profit.
[5-7kP] is common for new and/or smaller businesses or established ones that might not provide much RP!
[8kP] is generally saved for established businesses that have OOC work put into them to keep them running or provide frequent RP.
[9kP+] is generally saved for older, established businesses that have provided lots of roleplay through frequent events and such.

The larger the amount you ask for then the better the reason should be! Keep in mind costs for purely IC things rather than OOC factors, as roleplay is what it’s really about! If your character has little business experience, multiple businesses, then they might have to ICly hire someone to help. With this being Toro though we’re a lot more lenient with it- we even help you pay employees! Also remember you can always ask for more later on, especially as your business becomes more established through frequent roleplay.

ICGM-M Tips
I do keep rent in mind when considering paychecks. If you are renting out a building which costs more I don't mind a higher IC-GM (still within reason!) to help so you aren't losing money.
• If you're asking for an increase, do it incrementally; don't skip from 6k to 10k! Also make sure you've provided a bit of RP!
• I don't necessarily base what I give off on what would make sense in terms of OOC mathematics ('I can make this much if I do X actions!' / 'When compared to the real world-') but adding more RP to the world.
• If your business does NOT provide RP or IC opportunities then you shouldn't be asking for a lot- this is to push RP after all! If your business does not provide it yet but begins to later on via providing jobs or events, feel free to try asking for more again.
• Some pix might be taken away to account for IC costs such as specialized NPC workers or managers- especially in the case where your character has a business they have little experience in, multiple businesses, or little business experience overall. If you're running multiple businesses, I generally take 2k+ away from everything but your 'main' business.
• I recommend making a post in the Business Directory! Not necessarily an ICGM-M thing, it might help you get a bit more business.

In-Character GM: Monopoly Forms (Event Bonuses)

Post: # 16049Post Misha »

Event Bonuses

If you’ve been involved in helping with any public events, you + anyone else who helped can get a bit of pix as thanks for encouraging RP; only 1 person needs fill this out! Sorry for another form, but it's just a super simple so we know everybody we need to thank and so it isn't forgotten by asking in a place where it'd easily forgotten! Do it sometime after the RP and we will get to it as soon as we can!

Code: Select all

What was the event?: (It can be a simple summary!)
Who helped run the event and what did they do?:
Did anyone involved spend any pix to run it?: (ex: for food or prizes)
The amount you get will be based on what the event itself was; a simple little opening might get less than a proper planned night or party! It’ll generally range between 1k~5k per person, maybe a bit more if it was especially involved or exhausting. It’s not much, but hopefully it’s still a nice little bit extra! ICly, the bonus is from NPCs who participated or a bit of extra business afterwards from the event promoting the business.

Note: By filling it out it also means it's logged for the future, which might help your case if you want to ask for a raise in your business’ paycheck in the future.

Post: # 16055Post ZIF »

MC Username: ZIFFromGeico

Character Name: Max Tanner

Name of Business: Max Tanner: Detective For Hire

Type of Business: Freelance detective work

When the Business was established: I believe somewhere in the mid to late 1080's? (May or June of 2020)

How much per season you want your business to make: 9k

What steps have been taken to try and promote the Business / encourage RP?: Max has built up a reputation on Toro for over 2-3 decades now, rarely shy when it comes to plugging his business to newer people he's just met. His work can range from large to small, so the possibility for any kind of case for characters to come to him for collaborative rp is quite high.

Does your Business have a vshop or provide any notable IC / OOC services?*: None

Additional Notes / Reasoning: Originally, his paycheck was for 8k, but with the older the business gets, I'm wondering if it could be bumped up just a smidge to 9k? I'd be fine with 8k still, just wondering if possible.
