Tell us a little about yourself: I'm a twenty-seven year old man who has a full time job and is looking to relax and do some roleplay. I have a long history as a D&D DM for many minecraft servers throughout the years as well as outside that circle. I enjoy the typical nerdy stuff, star wars, warhammer, D&D, 40k, Pokemon and love talking about lore.

What is meta-gaming?: The use of out-of-character knowledge in an in-character setting. Jim hears that Bob's character is weak to carbonated soda. Next episode Jim's character has a carbonated soda and spills it on Bob, killing him isntantly.

What is power-gaming / god-modding?: Power gaming is taking away the ability of reaction from another player in a roleplay setting. "I hit you, you die" is a good example. God modding is t he refusal to accept being hit, or otherwise being invincible.

What is retroactive continuity? (retcon): Newer terminology, but I suppose it's taking back something that happened in character that may have put you or the character in a poor light icly. Let's say one character made a big vouch to kill an NPC, which is against the party's intent. They then later say "Oh no, they didn't say/do that"

What is Character Bleed, and how can you prevent it? : Also called 'mixing' is when you take a little bit too much of your character into you, or vice versa and you make an issue that is strictly oocly or ic into the opposite, which leads to drama more times than not.

Do you have previous experience playing on a RP server?: A lot. Some 15-17 years.

Full name: Barry Goode
Age: (min 18+) 25

Appearance: (80 word minimum) Barry stands at roughly 6'1 with a barrel chest and broad shoulders, forcing him to have to step sideways through most doorways. A rough, thick beard ladens his face that is brown in the dark but shines with a red sheen in the sunlight, a mustache complimenting it and covering most of his mouth, his lips just barely visible. His shaggy brown hair runs down the back of his neck, never looking combed. His soft blue eyes show great care in everything he does, or what he looks at. He typically wears rough cloth clothing, cut from either burlap or cloth with simple shoes made of tied leather. His large hairy arms tell tales of his time in the mountains, being adorned with scars and markings upon them.

Personality: (150 word minimum) Barry is a kind soul at his heart, he never wanted to hurt anyone, never wished for more, never though himself greater than he was. A humble giant that grew up in dire straits. This, however changes quickly when things that he believes are wrong occur around him, lest it be something inherently unfair, thievery, bullying, or otherwise unjust he quickly turns from a gentle giant into what can only be described as an Ursaring on a rampage, attempting to right whatever wrong lay before him. He enjoys the quiet hours of the sun rise and the sun set, cooking for friends, taking care of small pok'e'mon, and making sure everyone is happy. He speaks little, but when he does he tries to have it hold meaning. He's very protective of his Tediursa, and small pokemon in general who cannot defend themselves, as well as harbors a loathing for anyone who takes advantage of said pokemon.
He never had a lot of money, so he can be a bit frugal, decidedly foraging and growing his own food over paying for food, unless it's directly from the hands of a farmer or forager.

Biography: Growing up in the mountainside of Cianwood, Barry's parents were charcoal burners, his father and mother both retired trainers, using their pok'e'mon for household chores. They were not wealthy, but they made ends meet and weekly Barry would go with his father to town to sell charcoal, those were the good years, the happy years. And then his mother fell ill, and the medicine was very expensive. He and his father burned charcoal day and night, his father doubling on shifts to afford the medicine for his mother, but ultimately- they ran out of people to sell to, and the medicine failed to get back to his mother in time. He and his father went into mourning, and that was when Barry decided to stop speaking. His father began getting sick from the fumes of the charcoal he had worked at years later, and soon his breathing was labored and he was unable to make the walk to town anymore, and soon his father followed his mother not but three years later, leaving the seventeen-year old to fend for himself. He buried his father next to his mother, and kept working. Without his parents there, he began to cook for himself, and wanting to save money to eventually be rid of this place, he turned to foraging. Herbs, roots, berries, many meals he made where he would get ill and sick, keeping a journal of what was good and what wasn't, and one day- he happened upon a curious little Pok'e'mon. A Tediursa wandering the forest, the shaggy massive man coming upon it as it struggled to reach for a combee comb, left in a tree. He stepped quietly towards it, reached and handed the honey to the Tediursa, who imprinted on him immediately, thinking him an Ursaring. And from that day, they were Inseparable. He brought the Tediursa home, learned of it's method to make honey and the two became fast friends over food, the tiny Tediursa bringing small spark of joy to the young man's life. And finally, after years he saved enough to bid rid of the city, the town, and Jhoto all together. He took with him his book, his clothes, and his dear friend and set out into the great unknown.

Flaws:
Lesser Knowledge: Trapped in a small space, Barry has little knowledge of the world outside of his small space, having only spent the last 5 years or so in the world, he does not know everything there is.
Rage: He may not anger quickly, but when he does he is slow to cool down, and even less easy to control, his Tediursa mimics this, in-tune with the man's emotions.

Ambitions: Barry's ambitions are to find his place in the world, somewhere he can be happy, somewhere he can thrive. He wishes to cook food for people, to make people happy because he feeds off their happiness in turn. He's grown a fondness for Bear Pok'e and probably will search for more to add to his family, without disrupting their natural lives. His goals may change depending on his direct environment, but overall he simply wishes to help, and be helpful.

You find yourself standing in a bustling town. Suddenly, a small girl runs up to you, her eyes seeming to glisten with fresh tears as her bottom lip quivers. “Please!” She cries out to you, “You must help me! My poor Meowth is stuck in a tree!” She points to a nearby tree as more tears spill out of her eyes and down her cheeks. How does your character respond?

Barry looks towards the little girl and then the tree, of course he was going to help her. His large, lumbering form makes its way over to the tree, his Tediursa riding on his shoulder. As he gets to the tree he peers up to to find the Mewoth clinging to one of the higher branches, he picks up Tediursa, setting him on the ground before his massive hands come to the tree's bark, his fingers digging in as he pulls himself up before grabbing onto the next branch and scaling the tree, more of a menacing bear crawl than any actual scaling. He makes his way up to the Meowth, the poor creature probably horrified by the human approaching it, and attempts to pluck it, even attempts to scratch at met with no hesitence to the large man, as he takes the meowth in one hand and promptly scales back down the tree, more like sliding against the bark with his fingers dug into it's trunk. He presents the meowth back to the girl, his face filled with scratches and gives her a thumbs up before picking up Tediursa and placing him back on his shoulder and continuing with his day.


After arriving in Toro a cheerful woman walks up to you, a clipboard in her hand. “Hello and welcome to Toro! I would like to ask where you came from and why you came, as well as where you plan to go. All for for statistical reasons of course.” she asked with a bright smile as she held a pen to her clipboard. How does your character respond?

A few grunt and grumbles are all that come out of Barry, he isn't one to talk, much less in elongated sentences, a few mumbles of his past here and there, leaving the reported in a stump as his voice isn't quite audible besides the mild grumbling. She notices the cooking pan and the Bear-mon riding on his shoulder, beginning to question that, and it is at this point that Barry bows his head to the woman and attempts to leave quickly, he doesn't want to be in the spotlight, much less share his life story with a stranger.


You are walking along the road when your eyes lock onto a trainer's in the distance. At that moment, you both freeze in place. You see a glimmer in the trainer's eyes as he reaches for his Pokeball. "Go, Rattata! Show this chump what we've been training for!" the trainer shouts as he swiftly releases his chosen partner in the vacant space that separates the two of you. How does your character respond?

Ah, Youngster Joey, Barry recognizes that Rattata, it's in the top percent. He holds his arms towards the trainer as if to talk him down, Barry's no trainer, just a man. He instead pulls out his cooking supplies, motioning towards them and offering the young trainer a meal, using locally foraged ingredients delivered by the Tediursa, he would make a nourishing stew of root vegetables, stock and various local flora. He would listen to the trainer's story and encourage him to follow his dreams, albeit quietly. And offer to walk with him to his next stop, so long as he doesn't do the weird challenge thing again, I mean- seriously, who just throws out their Pokémon and challenges someone before even talking to them? You're basically committing assault.

I'll also let you know, since it's easy to miss but! We do level the playing field a little bit and provide Max IVs / near Max IVs for Hidden Powers - though people still need to breed if they want specific stats ( like 0 atk ) and for the rest :3 ! There's a NPC to do that in our Battle Tower!
