Description: Ryder, standing a little over six feet, could be compared to a Machoke if it wasn’t for their iconic gray skin. Over the years Ryder has worked on his body and ended up rather muscular and well-toned. His complexion is dark and hair messy and brown, all of which help his amber eyes stick out. If he isn’t in a tank top and shorts, which he is in most of the time, he can be seen wearing polo shirts and khakis. Despite his abrasive nature and look, Ryder still has an air of class to him when wearing clothes that his parents would approve of.

History: Growing up in Po Town in Alola, Ryder was always just in the shadows of his parent’s greatness. The family ran a large business in the region selling Malasaldas. They lived a life of luxury and convenience within their mansion fully staffed by butlers, maids, housekeepers, and more. Often it was often with these people that Ryder found him being taken care by. His father, traveling mostly because of business, was rarely seen. Likewise, while Ryder might have seen his mother more she was always busy socializing at various galas and events she hosted. The two parents had every intention of raising Ryder to take over the business. However, that was not at all what Ryder wanted. As he grew up he became more and more of a handful for his parents due to his more rebellious nature against their plans. It was for this reason they sent Ryder to an all boys boarding school in Unova when he was 14.

At first Ryder was furious and angry at his parents for doing such a thing, but then he realized it was a blessing in disguise. For one, he would no longer be as restricted by his parents and two he could really be himself without any worries. So while in Unova, Ryder made various and numerous friends thanks to his personality and outlook on his situation. He joined the school’s wrestling team and excelled, enjoying the challenge. It was at this time he learned his love for the gym and that love never went away. At the gym he could become one with himself and challenge his body with every workout. The gym became a place of meditation for Ryder, going there when he needed to get things off his mind or to “relax”. It was also during his time at the boarding school Ryder found more about himself, experimenting with other boys in his dorm room. Nothing was ever too serious for Ryder, not having a boyfriend or anything like that.

After graduating from the boarding school Ryder returned back home to Alola soon after his 18th birthday. It was then that Ryder was expected to start shadowing under his father to prepare him for the family business. However, all hell broke loose when Ryder refused. After saving up some money for a few years Ryder used it and went to the Toro region. Ryder hoped by coming to the region he’d be able to escape the grasp of his family and get rid of them for good.

Nature
Personality: Ryder, being fiercely competitive, has a desire to excel both in wrestling as well as in Pokemon battles. He is confident and outgoing, which in addition to his approachable nature helps him make friends. However, anyone who knows him will say that his fiercely competitive nature is also a hindrance. Many times Ryder will take playful competitions or games way too seriously and will sometimes ruin the fun of others because of this. Ryder won’t realize he’s done such a thing until after the fact because he can get so caught up in things. Once he does realize the mistakes he has made though he is quick to correct them. Under the gruff and confident exterior appearance, Ryder truly cares about those he is friends with. One could compare his personality as an onion, having many layers as you peel it back. Lastly, going in hand with his compassionate side, he is also willing to stand up for his friends and fight for them no matter what it may be about or where it will lead him.

Strengths: Aside from his physical strength in which Ryder takes great pride, he is also a natural born leader. In addition when it comes to strategizing he

Weaknesses: Ryder can be overly competitive at times, often making a competition out of something just for the fun of it. He also has struggles when it comes to balancing his schooling and other commitments, never being great in class. Thus, Ryder is more so street smart than he will ever be knowledgeable. Lastly, he tends to be impulsive in the heat of the moment.

Ambitions: Ryder wants to make it in the Toro region, not only as a Pokemon battler, but as a person in general. He doesn’t want to live in the looming shadows of his family's name, instead making a name for himself. Thus it’s the reason why he battles as well as wrestled for his school’s team. Aside from that Ryder has few ambitions other than living life to its fullest.

History: During his birthday party when he was eight Ryder received his first Pokemon. His parents gifting him a Litten as to help keep him company. Thus, Ryder grew up alongside the fire cat Pokemon. The two were close and often got in trouble with each other. When it came time to go to boarding school in Unova, his parents refused to allow Ryder to take his now Torracat with him. Only by sneaking the pokeball with him was he allowed to take his best friend to Unova. It was during Ryder’s highschool years when Torracat evolved finally into Incineroar. In battles at night within the boarding school’s grounds, Ryder battled valiantly using Incineroar. It was because of these fights Incineroar got the nickname Wildfire, in part due to its powerful attacks. The two now in Toro look forward to seeing how far the duo can make it.
